Storing Cannabis
How to properly store your cannabis
Natural Harvest cannabis seeds are some of the highest quality strains available, so it is important to store your cannabis properly to ensure that it stays in the best possible condition until you are ready to consume it. Storing your harvested cannabis buds is important. Here are some tips for storing buds:
- Store out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Cannabis buds should be stored in a dark, cool place to preserve their flavor and potency. The ideal temperature for storing cannabis buds is between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Store in neutral containers, like glass mason jars. Plastic containers are not ideal for storing cannabis buds because they can absorb the flavor of the buds. Glass mason jars are a good option because they are airtight and will not absorb the flavor of the buds.
- Use hygrometers or products like a Boveda pack to monitor and control humidity levels. The humidity level in the container where you store your cannabis buds should be between 55 and 65%. If the humidity level is too high, the buds may mold. If the humidity level is too low, the buds may dry out and lose their flavor.
- Vacuum seal jars and containers to minimize oxygen exposure. Oxygen can degrade the cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis buds. Vacuum sealing the jars or containers where you store your buds will help to minimize oxygen exposure and preserve their freshness.
- Separate strains to maintain individual flavor profiles, and label with a date—it sucks to mix up strains. Cannabis buds can have different flavor profiles depending on the strain. It is a good idea to store each strain of cannabis buds in a separate container so that you can enjoy the unique flavor profile of each strain. You should also label the containers with the date that you stored the buds so that you know how long they have been stored.
By following these tips, you can store your harvested cannabis buds for up to two years without much loss of potency.
