Cannabis Flowering Stages
The flowering stages of cannabis and what to expect
Week 1-2: The first few weeks of flowering are known as the stretch phase. During this time, your plants will undergo a rapid growth spurt and may double in height. They will also start to develop pistils, which are the white hairs that protrude from the buds. Week 3-4: The stretch phase will start to slow down in week 3 or 4. Your plants will now focus on developing their buds and trichomes, which are the tiny glands that produce the plant’s active ingredients. Week 5-6: The buds will continue to develop and the trichomes will start to turn cloudy. This is a sign that the buds are nearing maturity. Week 7-8: The trichomes will start to turn amber in color. This is a sign that the buds are fully mature and ready to be harvested. Week 9-10: The buds will continue to mature and the trichomes may turn a darker amber color. However, it is important to harvest the buds before the trichomes start to fall off.
It is important to note that the flowering phase can vary depending on the strain of cannabis you are growing. Some strains may flower for only 7 weeks, while others may take up to 12 weeks or more. It is also important to monitor your plants closely during the flowering phase and harvest them when they are ready. Natural Harvest has a wide variety of strains to choose from; visit our cannabis seed store to see all that we have to offer.
